CHOOSE THE CORRECT MAC BUILD
Apple menu > About This Mac:
- "Chip: Apple ..." means arm64 (Apple Silicon).
- "Processor: Intel ..." means x86_64 (Intel).
This README accompanies Autovat-1.19.0-macOS13-x86_64.zip for x86_64 (Intel).
Requires macOS 13 or later. No Python, Homebrew, Excel or separate OCR needed.

INSTALL
1. Open the downloaded ZIP in Finder.
2. Drag Autovat.app into Applications.
3. Open Autovat from Applications. These builds are not signed with an Apple
   Developer ID and are not notarized by Apple. macOS may block the first open.
4. If the developer cannot be verified, dismiss the alert. If you trust and
   have verified this download, open System Settings > Privacy & Security.
   Scroll to Security > Open Anyway for Autovat, then confirm Open.
   Authenticate if asked. This creates an exception for this app.
5. If macOS reports malware or a damaged app, or no exception is offered,
   stop and contact the developer. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.

START
Choose folder > select your receipt folder > enter your details > Read input
folder > review purchases and payment evidence > Create files.
The initial folder is ~/Documents/Autovat. Allow access to your chosen folder.
Provider keys use macOS Keychain; Windows encrypted keys do not transfer.
Local text recognition is included. Optional OpenAI/Claude modes need your
own provider key and can incur provider charges. Check all generated forms.
Use Help in the app for complete instructions.

UPDATE
Quit Autovat and replace /Applications/Autovat.app. Keep the receipt folder,
its hidden .autovat folder, output files and saved settings. A new version
may need its own Open Anyway approval. Startup checks only offer the download
page; updates are never downloaded or installed automatically. Unavailable
checks stay silent and do not delay opening the app.

VERIFY THE DOWNLOAD (Terminal, in the download folder)

Compare with SHA256SUMS.txt from the download page. A checksum detects file
changes; obtain it from a trusted source to verify authenticity.

PRIVACY AND PERMISSION
The version check includes the app version and ordinary connection data,
never receipts, form details, API keys or a device identifier. The server can
log your IP address. See LICENSE.txt and Licenses in the app: personal,
non-commercial use is free; Autovat modification, redistribution, sale and
charging require prior written permission. Third-party licenses still apply.
